Public Meetings

You can get involved in your city government.

Long Beach residents have many ways to be a part of their city government. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen and other city boards have regularly scheduled meetings if you would like to address any of the following boards you may download a request application here or stop by city hall to fill one out.

The following is a list of scheduled public meetings:

Long Beach Mayor and Board of Aldermen - The Mayor and Board of Aldermen meet at the Long Beach School Administration Office located at 19148 Commission Road. Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meeting schedule is subject to change in the event of a holiday. Call the city hall office at 228-863-1556 to confirm meeting dates.

Long Beach Planning Commission - The Planning Commission meets at the Long Beach School Administration Office located at 19148 Commission Road. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The meeting schedule is subject to change in the event of a holiday. Call the city hall office at 228-863-1554 to confirm meeting dates. To address the Long Beach Planning Commission you may download the request application here.

Long Beach Port Commission - The Port Commission meets at the Long Beach School Administration Office located at 19148 Commission Road. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meeting schedule is subject to change in the event of a holiday. Call the city hall office at 228-863-1556 to confirm meeting dates.

Long Beach Recreation Board - The Recreation Board meets at the Long Beach School Administration Office located at 19148 Commission Road. Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The meeting schedule is subject to change in the event of a holiday. Call Bob Paul the Recreation Director at 228-669-7601 to confirm meeting dates.

What's on the agenda?

You can find the agenda for the Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting posted on the web site the Friday before the next Tuesday meeting. You may also receive a Mayor and Board of Aldermen agenda by fax or email by calling 228-863-1556 and requesting one.

How to be placed on the agenda?

You may stop by City Hall and fill out a request or you may download the request by clicking on the following link Agenda Request Form The form must be submitted to the City Clerk's Office by 12 noon the Friday before the Tuesday meeting.

How to obtain copies of minutes to the agenda?

You may obtain copies of the minutes to the agenda by filling out a request for public information form (fees do apply) or by downloading them from the website (they can be found under the minutes or archives link on the homepage.
